This program is designed for moderate to advanced hikers and is similar to the 4-day trek from Sembalun, with the difference being the starting and ending points.
Upon arrival in Lombok, our staff will pick you up and transfer you to our hotel and office in Senaru. Once in Senaru, you will meet the Rinjani Ascend team, complete your registration, and participate in a short briefing for the trek. If you arrive at least one hour before sunset, you can visit Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls.
Wake up at 6:30 AM and have breakfast. At 7:00 AM, leave the hotel and head to the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) in Senaru (601 meters), which is a 10-minute drive. Start the trek by passing through Post 1 (900 meters), Post 2 (1,500 meters), and Post 3 (2,000 meters) before reaching the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters). Every post offers a 10-15 minute rest. Spend the night at the crater rim.
Descend to the lake and hot springs (2,000 meters). Spend the night at the Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 meters).
Hike up to the Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 meters). Spend the night at the Sembalun Crater Rim.
Wake up at 2:00 AM for a light breakfast and prepare for the three-hour climb to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 meters). Enjoy the sunrise views across Bali, Mt. Agung, and Sumbawa. After descending back to the Sembalun Crater Rim, have breakfast and continue the descent through Post 3 (1,800 meters), Post 2 (1,500 meters), and Post 1 (1,300 meters). The trek ends at the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) in Sembalun (1,156 meters), where transportation will be ready to take you to your next destination.
This trek begins in Senaru Village and ends in Sembalun Village. The route is as follows: Senaru Village – Senaru Crater Rim – Lake – Hot Springs – Sembalun Crater Rim – Summit – Sembalun Village.
No matter whether you arrive by plane or boat, our staff will be there to pick you up and transfer you to our hotel and office in Senaru. After arrival, you will meet the Rinjani Ascend team for registration and receive a briefing about the trekking procedures. If you arrive early enough, you can visit the nearby waterfalls before sunset.
Your guide will pick you up at 6:30 AM from your hotel lobby and take you to the Rinjani Information Center for registration. Once on the trail, you will pass through tropical forests with open views of the rich flora and fauna, such as large trees, orchids, birds, butterflies, and possibly black monkeys (Langurs). The first rest stop will be Montong SATAS shelter (1,500 meters), where porters will provide fresh fruits and soft drinks.
You can choose to camp either at Post 3 (Mondokan Lokak, 2,000 meters) or continue to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters) after a lunch break at Post 3. As you reach the Senaru Crater Rim, you will enjoy sweeping views of Segara Anak Lake (2,000 meters) and the summit of Mt. Rinjani. You will camp here for the night.
After breakfast at 6:30 AM, you will descend to Segara Anak Lake (2,000 meters) through steep and rocky terrain, assisted by your guide and porters. Mt. Baru, an active volcano, sits in the middle of the lake. The rest of the day will be spent relaxing by the lake, exploring nearby caves, and enjoying the hot springs known for their healing properties. Spend the night camping at the lake.
After a relaxing morning by the lake, you will have lunch and start climbing back to the Sembalun Crater Rim. The hike takes about three hours. Once at the rim, you will have a tea break, enjoy the sunset, and spend the night camping.
At 2:30 AM, enjoy a light breakfast and start the climb to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 meters). After reaching the top and witnessing the spectacular sunrise, descend back to the Sembalun Crater Rim for breakfast. The descent continues through Post 3 (1,800 meters), Post 2 (1,500 meters), and Post 1 (1,300 meters). The trek will end at the Rinjani Information Center in Sembalun, where a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
