Summary of the Trek Program

Day 0

Upon your arrival in Lombok (whether by plane or boat), our staff will pick you up and transfer you to our hotel and office in Senaru. Upon arriving in Senaru, you will meet the Rinjani Ascend team to complete your registration and receive a short briefing from your guide.

You will learn about the trekking procedure and prepare for the adventure. If you arrive at least an hour before sunset, you will have the opportunity to visit Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls.

Day 1: 7-8 Hours

Start the day with breakfast at 6:30 AM, and leave the hotel at 7:00 AM to travel to the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) in Senaru (601 meters). From there, the trek begins. You will pass through Post 1 (900 meters), Post 2 (1,500 meters), and Post 3 (2,000 meters) before reaching the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters), where you will spend the night at camp.

Day 2: 6 Hours

After breakfast, descend to the lake and hot springs (2,000 meters). After enjoying your time by the lake, you will hike back up to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters) and spend another night at camp.

Day 3: 5-6 Hours

Wake up at 6:15 AM to witness the sunrise. After breakfast, begin the descent, stopping at Post 3 (2,000 meters), Post 2 (1,500 meters), and Post 1 (900 meters), before returning to the Rinjani Information Center in Senaru. You will then be dropped off at your next destination.

When You Arrive at Lombok

Regardless of whether you arrive by air or sea, our team will pick you up and transfer you to our hotel and office in Senaru. Once there, the Rinjani Ascend staff will assist you with registration and provide a short briefing with your guide.

You will also learn about the trekking procedures and prepare for the trip. If you arrive at least one hour before sunset, you will have the opportunity to visit Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls.

Day 1: Trekking Through the Forest

After rising at the hotel, our guide will pick you up at 6:30 AM and take you to the Rinjani Information Center for registration. Once there, you’ll begin your hike, which will take you through rich tropical forests filled with wildlife such as birds, butterflies, orchids, and more. With some luck, you might even spot a black monkey (Langur).

You’ll stop for a rest at Montong SATAS shelter (1,500 meters), where porters will provide snacks like bananas, pineapples, crackers, and soft drinks. Depending on weather and preference, you will either camp at Post 3 (Mondokan Lokak, 2,000 meters) or continue climbing to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters), where you will camp for the night.

Day 2: Descend to the Lake

At 6:30 AM, after breakfast, you will descend the steep and rocky path to Segara Anak Lake (2,000 meters). Your guide and porters will assist you on this part of the trek. The lake sits within the crater, alongside Mt. Baru, an active volcano that last erupted in 1994. You will pass Edelweiss (Bunga Abadi) fields before reaching the crater rim camp for lunch. Afterward, the rest of the day will be spent swimming in the lake, exploring caves, and enjoying the hot springs, which are known for their healing properties.

Day 3: Return to Senaru Village

After breakfast at 7:30 AM, we will leave the lake and return to the Senaru Crater Rim, which takes approximately three hours. After a short break at the rim, we will continue the descent to Post 3 and Post 2, where lunch will be served by the Rinjani Ascend team. After lunch and a well-deserved rest, we will make our final descent to Senaru Village, where you will be transferred to your next destination.
