Summary of the Trek Program

Day 0

We will pick you up and transfer you to our hotel and office in Senaru.

Day 1: 11-12 Hours

Wake up at 6:30 AM and have breakfast. At 7:00 AM, we will depart for the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) in Sembalun (1,156 meters). The trek will start by passing through Post 1 (1,300 meters), Post 2 (1,500 meters), and Post 3 (1,800 meters), before reaching Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 meters), where we will camp overnight.

Day 2: 6-7 Hours

Wake up at 3:00 AM for a light breakfast and prepare for the hike to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 meters) to catch the sunrise. After enjoying the views, we will descend back to the Sembalun Crater Rim and then continue down to Lake Segara Anak (2,000 meters) within the Rinjani crater. After relaxing by the lake and exploring the caves and hot springs, we will hike back up to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters), where we will camp overnight.

Day 3: 5-6 Hours

Wake up at 6:15 AM to enjoy the sunrise. After breakfast, we will descend through Post 3 (2,000 meters), Post 2 (1,500 meters), and Post 1 (900 meters) to the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) in Senaru (601 meters). You will be transferred to your next destination after the trek.

Itinerary

This trek starts in Sembalun and ends in Senaru Village. The route is as follows: Sembalun Village – Sembalun Crater Rim – Summit – Lake – Hot Springs – Senaru Crater Rim – Senaru Village.

Arrival in Lombok

No matter whether you arrive by plane or boat, our staff will pick you up and transfer you to our hotel and office in Senaru. Upon arrival, you will meet our staff to complete your registration and receive a short briefing. If time permits, you can visit Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls. Please note that while you can arrive on the same day as the trek, we recommend arriving the day before to avoid delays.

Day 1: Trekking through Grasslands

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 6:30 AM and transfer you to the Rinjani Information Center in Sembalun Lawang Village (1,156 meters). After registering and arranging National Park entry tickets, the trek will begin with a gentle ascent through grasslands used by local farmers for cattle grazing. We will stop for a rest at Pos 1 Pemantauan (1,300 meters), and after about three hours, reach Pos 2 Tengengean (1,500 meters), where we can enjoy beautiful views of Mount Rinjani’s summit. After a further ascent, we reach Pos 3 Pada Balong (1,800 meters) before continuing to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 meters), where we will camp overnight.

Day 2: Climbing the Summit

At 2:30 AM, after a light breakfast, we will begin the three-hour climb to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 meters). Upon reaching the summit, we can enjoy the amazing sunrise views stretching across the Wallace Line to Bali, Mt. Agung, and Sumbawa. After descending back to the Sembalun Crater Rim, we will have breakfast and then head down to Lake Segara Anak (2,000 meters) within the crater. After a lunch break by the lake and some time relaxing or exploring the nearby caves and hot springs, we will ascend for two and a half hours to the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters), where we will camp for the night.

Day 3: Descent to Senaru Village

After breakfast, we will descend through the tropical forest, rich in flora, bird life, and butterflies. Along the way, your guide will share village stories and local legends. Notable sights include the Batu Penyesalan stone and the large Bunut Ngengkang tree, which has a distinctive shape resembling someone standing with their legs apart. After about seven hours of walking from the rim (or five hours from Post 3 Mondokan Lokak), the trek ends at the Rinjani Information Center in Senaru, where you will be transferred to your next destination.
