Itinerary

This trek starts at Senaru Village and ends in Sembalun Village, following the route: Senaru Village – Senaru Crater Rim – Lake – Hot Springs – Sembalun Crater Rim – Summit – Sembalun Village.

Arrival in Lombok

No matter whether you arrive by plane or boat, our staff will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Senaru. Once in Senaru, you will meet our team for registration and receive a short briefing. If time permits, you can visit the nearby Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls.

Day 1: Trekking Through the Forest

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 6:30 AM and take you to the Rinjani Information Center for registration and National Park entry. The trek takes us through the tropical forest, where you’ll experience the rich flora and fauna, including birds, butterflies, orchids, and perhaps even the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as lutung. We will rest at Montong SATAS shelter (1,500 meters), where porters will serve fresh fruits and soft drinks.

Depending on weather and preferences, the night’s camp is either at Post 3 (Mondokan Lokak, 2,000 meters) or the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters). The journey through grassy meadows leads to the Senaru Crater Rim, where we’ll have sweeping views across Segara Anak Lake (2,000 meters) and Mount Rinjani.

Day 2: Exploring the Lake and Hot Springs

After breakfast at 6:30 AM, descend to Segara Anak Lake. The path is steep and rocky, but your guide and porters will assist you. You will pass Edelweiss fields (Bunga Abadi) as we make our way to the lake. The rest of the day is spent swimming, exploring caves, and enjoying the hot springs, known for their healing properties. We will camp overnight by the lake.

Day 3: Summit and Descent

At 2:30 AM, we will have a light breakfast before starting the difficult three-hour climb to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 meters). Once there, enjoy the sunrise views and the satisfaction of reaching the peak. After descending to the Sembalun Crater Rim Camp, have breakfast and continue trekking down through Post 3, Post 2, and Post 1, ending at the Rinjani Information Center in Sembalun, where a vehicle will be waiting to take you to your next destination.
